Playing iciyenga. Government schools are closing on the 20th of this month for the first term and students are writing their end of term tests. Living Compassion is full of children who have been coming as early as 10 00hrs in the morning to play around.

Bertha is one of the girls in the program who could not make it to Grade Ten. She has improved in her English, and after class with Charles, she helps with the little ones in the library.

Edna, a Grade Two student at Twatemwa Primary School, got high scores on the quiz that was arranged here at Living Compassion. She beat all other Grade Two students in English spelling and writing.

Theresa, my namesake. She is all grown and is in Grade Three this year. She was telling me that she has a new brother at home who was born yesterday. Theresa's family has grown, and she now has seven siblings.

Meet Jonathan, who is now in Grade Nine. He was the boy who used to joke with me whenever he saw me walking through Kantolomba. At that time he was not going to school, and he would ask if he could only come to eat, as he did not like school. I would always tell him that he could eat at Living Compassion only if he went to school. One day his grandmother came to the property with him and he was enrolled in Charles's class. He wrote his Grade Seven exams and made it to Grade Eight last year. This year he is in Grade Nine. He now loves school and would like to become a doctor when he completes school. I always encourage him to work hard.

This is little Priscilla, who is in Memory's class. She has been learning how to write the number 9. After two days she is now able to write it, and this has made her so happy that she asked if her photo could be taken.

The weather has been a bit chilly for the past two days, and the rains have been pouring. Here Brenda, Juliet, and little Mary warm themselves around a little brazier as they wait for lunch to be served.

Meet a grandmother who has taken care of her grandchild for years now. This is Susan's grandmother who came to fetch her grandchild after class. She is very caring and would love to see Susan finish school.

Five-year-old Emmanuel writing numbers 1 to 10 in class. Emmanuel is the son of Pauline, our member of the team, and is the last born in a family of six.

Our very own Jowen saying she enjoys being at the property each day and is thankful to Living Compassion, both here and the USA, for being there for her and her children. She is happy that her children, who were little when her husband passed on, have grown up and are all in school. She is able to feed and take care of them without any problem. A BIG THANK-YOU TO ALL, she says.

Natasha, one of our team members, with her two little children. Natasha and her family moved onto the property in the main house where Margret was living. Margret now lives with her grandaughter in Kantolomba after the family decided that she needed to be cared for because of her health and age. Natasha was renting in Kantolomba and is very happy to be the new caretaker.

Baby Ignitius is our cute face of Kantolomba this week. He is in Malila's class and loves drawing. He is four years old and lives with his mother and grandmother. His father passed on last year.

The Living Compassion family is growing. Our member of staff Florence recently gave birth to a bouncy baby girl. Florence now has five children.

Mary Bwalya and Mary Mwanza in their school uniforms, our very own from the Girls Team who made it to Grade Ten this year. They are both at Lubuto Secondary School. We are so proud of them!

Weeds are growing fast, though we are not receiving much rain. Here Euginia weeding along the road that leads to the property.

Little Beatrice, a Grade Four student, loves to help her mother fetch water at the Living Compassion tap. She is the sister of Christin Kalenga, one of the girls in the program.

Our team passed the health tests on food handling done by the health team that visited Kantolomba. Living Compassion came out tops on the list.
