Tuesday was one of those days we "shoulda stayed in bed." Nothing seemed to go our way.
Dave had some insights about the car repair and we called Friday early in the morning to see if he was available. He came right over and he and Dave decided to take the car over to Friday's shop to assess the situation.

Meanwhile Jen was holding down the fort at home, catching up on blog writing and fitting in some short naps to assist in the cold recovery program. We attempted to send emails from the roof, but the satellite was not connecting. Darn!
Dave finally pulled in the driveway around 4:30pm with the unfortunate news that, despite valiant efforts and many steps in the right direction, the car was not done. We thanked Friday for his efforts and said we would be in touch.
Though Dave was exhausted and hungry, we realized we had to keep moving, since we had no transport and needed food and water before dark. We headed out to ShopRite on foot. In keeping with the "nothing working" theme, they were closing the door to the store just as we walked up. Remaining heroically cheerful we hailed a taxi and figured we would treat ourselves to eating out. Our spirits remained high until we reached the restaurant and discovered it was closed on Tuesdays. Yikes!
We got home exhausted but surprisingly buoyant. We impressed ourselves by the delicious dinner we were able to scrape together with the few odds and ends we had in the cupboard.
Tomorrow could only be better.
