Tuesday, our last full day of the trip, was a very special day indeed. There is much to tell. We had a goal of completing all the blogging before we hit U.S. soil, but it appears that is not going to happen as we are currently en route. We just turned on the flight map on the video monitor to see that we are off the coast of Gabon, about 3 hours from our fuel stop in Dakar, Senegal. While that does mean we have many, many hours in which we could work, the body, mind and spirit all seem to agree that rest is the next order of business.
When we arrive home there is one transition day and then we begin a retreat. As we contemplated using that transition day for completing the blog, we had a sudden insight: Be kinder to yourself than you think you should be! Ah ha! So, we shall commit that we will delight you with a photo essay outlining the end of the trip as soon after the retreat ends as possible. And, it is a win-win because there are SO many great photos from that last day, and were we to quickly get the blog done just to get it out the door we would not be able to do it justice. We will send email notification when the photo essay is posted. Deal? (It is a marvelous side benefit of practice to learn that whenever something feels like it is too much or a strain, we can know that we are believing a story and there is ALWAYS an avenue for things to work out in a way that takes care of all.)
In the meantime, thank you, as always, for following along and for your support.
A sneak preview: The whole make-it-happen team meets at the airport before we fly to go over our next steps document. We think we may actually have a successful communication plan in place. Keep your fingers crossed!
