I woke up early on Thursday with the familiar sadness of departure day, but also an exhilaration of what had been accomplished and what lay ahead. I spoke with Cheri soon after waking (just about bedtime the day before for her), and we marveled at the sheer size of these two weeks. We arrived with hopes of looking into a garbage collection program, getting black plastic for the worst roofs in Kantolomba, continuing to make in-roads in the local community, and then see what the next steps might be. We are leaving with the garbage program already underway; plastic purchased for all 753 roofs; the deed to a new, beautiful property in-hand; architectural plans for the community center/medical clinic being drawn; a date set for drilling a well; email addresses of the key players we need in local government; a fabulous team on the ground in Ndola; and hundreds of people all over the world reading and sharing this adventure with us. We feel blessed beyond measure and are deeply grateful to everyone, all of you, for making this possible! Thank you.
