The weather has changed in Zambia. It's been raining a lot this week and the little ones are clad in warm clothing when coming to Living Compassion.

Brilliant, Beatrice's son, is going to Grade One next year. His mum is very proud of him, for he is a bright boy.

The beautiful faces of our dear little ones in the program here in Kantolomba. This week was Child Health Week and the little ones were getting de-worming and vitamin tablets.

Jowen sorting out beans. She is a mother of four and after her husband passed away, she joined the Living Compassion family in place of her dear husband. Today she says she is proud to be in the family, as she is able to take care of her children and aging mum.

The rains are here and grass is growing fast around the property. The team makes sure that the surroundings are neat and tidy by weeding the area.

Children love to have their photo taken. Once they see a camera, they run up and ask for a photo to be taken. Here cute faces beam with excitement as they pose for a photo.

Natasha, one of the cooks, could not help watching the children play football. She joined in the fun but only for a short time. She confessed that she could not keep up the pace of the young ones who were running around.

Three friends who live nearby in Kantolomba come to school together and play together. Meet little Nora, Charity, and Bupe. They are in Beatrice's class and have been selected to go to Grade One next year at Twatemwa Primary School here in Kantolomba.

Karen and Veronica, Grade 8 students who are in the Girls Program, pose for a photo after lunch. The girls are best friends and say they want to become nurses when they complete school.

Written on the board are words starting with the letter B. This work was prepared for Grade 8 students by Ann before they go into their respective pods. The students have difficulties with spelling and Ann, who is in charge of the library, takes time to help.

Older Foster is one of the oldest members of our team and is still energetic and joval. She is a proud grandmother of 15 and has 4 great-grandchildren. Today was her 69th birthday and she danced around at the property.

Mangoes are in season here in Zambia, and on the property we have about seven trees that have produced the fruit this year. The children just love it. Here little Christabel, who is Audria's daughter, enjoying her fruit.

The usual cute and funny faces of Kantolomba. They are a handful!

Mary, a student in Joy's class, enjoys her meal. All she could say was that it was so yummy.

The 24th of October was our Independence Day here in Zambia. We are now 53 years old. The colors of the flag were worn by both the old and the young ones. Here little Naomi wearing a dress of the colors of the flag made by her mum.

Back from school, Dick and his friend hang around the property playing after lunch. They say that they like the shade at the property, as it is very hot these days.

This is the African eggplant which is cooked and eaten with nshima. In Bemba we call it "impwa" and the other green which goes with it is called "lumanda." The lumanda tastes a bit sour, but added to the eggplant it is delicoius.

Mondays and Wednesdays we have soya chunks, veggies, and nshima. Here the soya chunks are being cooked.

Meet Loveness, Christin Kalenga's sister. She is in Grade 3 at Twatemwa School right here in Kantolomba. She loves reading, and here she has come with her friends to the library.

Jane and her friends have been spending their time in the library because their teachers are helping with the Grade Nine exams going on at their schools. It's a plus for us, as they are keeping us busy most of the time.

Mirriam and her friend Susan. Grade Three students at Twatemwa School have been out of school for the last three days. Instead of playing around, they are coming here to Living Compassion to read in the library.

The big mulberry tree here is now full of berries which the children love to eat during their break time.

Our very own Olina Luchembe is now feeling well and has started going to school. Olina has sickle cell anemia.
