This is a very special blog. Today, at the end of the day, Muyunda and Jen met and Muyunda learned our blogging system. He went home and worked on creating the captions for the day. Below is his first blog. We have made a few minor changes just to help with context, and added a couple of photos with captions he had not included. Enjoy, and keep your fingers crossed that we may see more simple blogs like this even at times when we are not in Zambia. Fun!

When we arrived at the property late morning the men were working on the pit latrine. We found Reuben watering the foundation.

We went to see how the sewers were doing. We found the new woman by the name of Gertrude sewing. She was hired by the coop to increase on [wo]manpower.

Josephine sewing on the Juki. This was when Nelly wasn’t feeling well. She had the flu.

Jen met with the cleaning team to discuss on how they will reach their achievements and goals.

Just after the meeting Beauty brought little Jen for a quick visit. She is recovering from a second bout of malaria and we had been quite concerned about her. It was great to see her smiling.

Showing Jen a picture of herself from another day.

This was the first test on how many steel we should use and it was decided that we use only three. [The size of the openings left in the windows is very important due to petty crime.]

Reuben planning the window frame.

Reuben drilling holes where steel bars would pass through.

The men checking how the window frame would look on the building.

At the Kitchen we found the women sorting the Beans to be cooked for the following day.

And here we are learning to write this!
