Veronica and Martha share a light moment on Christmas Eve. We had a nice time singing songs, dancing, and sharing a meal.

Weeding to keep our surroundings neat and clean. Grass is growing fast as the rains are pouring almost everyday here.

Our very own little cute faces of Kantolomba. They still keep on asking when Abena Jen and Mama Cheri will come to visit. We have tried to tell them that they have gone back to America, but they seem not to understand.

Our little ones lining up for lunch.

Our very own Onester Bwalya, who sat for her Grade Seven exams just recently, sits in class with Ann. She was learning BUSU on the iPad. The girls are excited about the lessons.

Waiting for lunch to be served, the little ones are kept busy in the dining hall. They sing songs while lunch is being prepared.

Emelda working at the top of the hill. She was joking and saying that she could bulid a house there and we would all call her the Queen of Kantolomba. The view up there is awesome.

Sam, a Grade One student at Twatemwa Primary School here in Kantolomba. Sam is the son of Monica, one of the team members. Sam loves to play football, but he's unhappy that here in Kantolomba there are no proper fields or balls. The only spacious place is here at Living Compassion, and as Sam lives nearby, he and his friends come here to play. For a ball, they pick plastic and tie it together, then they kick it around.

Another member of the team has been born here at Living Compassion. This is the two-week-old grandson of our old retired Christin Chisenga. His mother Dorcus is now a member of the team. Dorcus replaced her mother after she retired and is now taking care of her.

Lunch time at the property. The boys from Beatrice's class enjoy their nshima as a group. They love putting their food together and sharing it. In homes here in Kantolomba, people eat together from the same plate as a family.

Jackline stirring the nshima. Here in Kantolomba, this is easy and we are used doing it. In our homes we cook the nshima in smaller pots.

Pauline and Emelda preparing cabbage in readiness for lunch. The cabbage is boiled, then tomatoes and some oil is added. We eat it with the nshima.

Our girls, Loveness, Angela, and Susan, after our usual Saturday meeting. Loveness is going back to her school, where is writing her Grade Nine exams. We wish her all the best!

Theresa visited the girls in Luanshya last Saturday afternoon. The girls were so happy to see her, and everyone had a nice time. The girls showed Theresa all the tests they had been doing the past months, and Theresa was impressed that the girls are doing so well in school. Here are Mirriam and Silvia, who are in college.

Twins Jen and John, who were in Beatrice's class, are now in Grade One at Future Matters School here in Kantolomba. The twins are the last-born in a family of six other children who are sets of twins, too. Here in Zambia one is considered lucky to have two or more sets of twins.

Ann during lunch break. She is mother of six and is taking care of her sister's four children. Her sister Benadette was a volunteer but fell sick some years back, and Ann had to take up her place in order to take care of the children. Today Benadette is in the village with relatives and uses a wheelchair. Ann is a very good mum to the children, hard-working and a big help with tutoring.
