Little Chilekwa Chileshe in the striped shirt is five years old and in Ethel's class. He already knows what he wants to be when he grows up. His little face beams, saying "I want to take photos like you, Aunty T." Very funny!

"I also want to join in the program," says little Evans, as he stormed into the dining hall following his brother, who is in Grade Five at Government School. The toddler sneaks from his mother and follows his brother around when he comes to the property. For sure he is next in line to join the Living Compassion family.

Not long ago this handsome young man was sick and malnourished. But after being in the program for only a few months, he is now a strong boy who runs around playing with friends.

Abraham, a student at Government School and a Living Compassion member. He was very sick when we first met him in the community when we went around recruiting the 200 new students. Now he looks much better after being in the program for only a few months, which shows that he is on the road to recovery.

Christine, who was a student here at Living Compassion in Joy's class, is now all grown and a Grade One student at Government School. She has a little brother Jack who is in baby class here.

A seesaw? No, this is a fallen wooden part of the old fence to be replaced here at the property. The children find fun in sitting on it and pretending that they are on a bus.

Break time here at Living Compassion is full of fun as the students sing and dance to the Genki songs that they had been learning in class.

Muleba, a student in Veronica's class, is looking forward to going to Grade One next year. She is now nine years old. She is very good when it comes to singing in class and is the leader. Her ambition is to become a gospel artist when she finishes school.

The boys, too, enjoy dancing to the Genki songs, and they do it in style.

Vanessa Banda used to go to a private school in nearby Lubuto. Three months ago her father deserted the family. The family has been struggling to make ends meet, and Vanessa was sent away from school because of school fees. Her mother brought her to Living Compassion and as a family we have welcomed her. She is in Joy's class again. You can see from the photo she is very happy to be with us!

Isaac, a student in Joy's class, is four years old and lives with Mum and older brother Bright, who is also a student in Charles' class. The two brothers, whose mum goes out each morning to do odd jobs around Lubuto (a neighboring township) to make ends meet, don't have to worry about lunch anymore for the boys, as the Living Compassion family is there to take care of their food and school needs. The very happy Mum says thank you for the program and that her sons look very healthy.
